Important Information Below on Voy Forums
VOY FORUMS - CAN I ASK ALL PARENTS, DANCERS, FRIENDS OF THE MAUREEN ONESTI ACADEMY IF THEY WOULD NOT
POST ANY MESSAGES ON ANY VOY FORUM - IF ANYONE DOES FEEL THE NEED TO POST ANYTHING, IT IS MY RULE THAT NO CHILD/DANCER OR INDEED MY SCHOOL NAME BE USED ON ANY POSTINGS UNLESS I HAVE GIVEN PRIOR PERMISSION
I have informed all voy moderators to remove my name if it should appear at anytime unless I have given permission for it to be published.
I thank everyone for their co-operation in this matter but 'child protection' will always be a priority within my dancing school and I feel these voy forums, at times, are not suitable for young dancers/children to view due to their content.
The Organisation the Maureen Onesti Academy is affiliated to Comhdháil Múinteoirí Na Rincí Gaelacha have also advised, for protection, all teachers/adjudicators/members be cautious in the use of these forums due to, at times, inaccurate information being posted. Once again, the Protection of young children is and always will be our priority.

- Fees - As from 1st September 2009 , there are no arrangments to pay by class - All classes are payable on a monthly basis. Only new dancers will have the opportunity to pay per class for a limited period of 1 month (settling in period) No feis fees will be accepted if class fees are not settled each month. This new arrangement applies to all dancers within the Academy. A new class register will be in use as from 1st September.
- Class Attendance - No dancers will be allowed to take part in Feiseanna if the don't attend class prior to any up and coming Feiseanna. This ruling will apply to dancers who are absent for any reason. If entry fees have been paid prior to absence from class, no refunds will be given by the class teacher, however each individual can apply to the Feis organiser.

Rules regarding all dancers at the Academy :-
Dancers, the following rules apply to all
- Attendance - Arrive at class on time - Dancers who do not attend class regularly will not be allowed to take part in feiseanna until deemed suitable to take part by the teacher. This decision will be made by Maureen Onesti.
- Behaviour - All dancers should show respect for all within the Academy at all times
- Uniform - Wear correct attire at all times during class (a list can be found at the bottom of this page)
- Hair should be neatly tied up and away from face
- Health & Safety - please ensure the teacher is appraised of any health conditions that should be known and update this section within your 'class registration' document as required....This information is kept 'strictly Private & Confidential'
- Eating & Drinking - bring plenty to drink whilst at class to prevent dehydration - No eating allowed whilst dancing.
Only fruit or yogurts allowed at class - No crips or sweeties allowed at any class unless medically advised to do otherwise
- Practice - Use any 'free time' to practice at a free zone area within each hall
- Mobile Phones - No mobile telephones to be used during class
- Fees - Monthly fees should be settled by the date as per monthly invoice handout - Please Note~Unused fees from one month is not transferable to another month.
- Fees - Monthly Class Fees cover each class and not the time spent at class. ie Fees cover Beginner Class
and Fees cover Intermediate/Open Class. The length of each class is deemed by the teacher as required for that
grade of dancer.
- Class Structure - With immediate effect, beginner/primary dancers will only take part in their designated class, ie beginner class. All beginners will cover all steps and dances required within their allocated class time. This rule
applies to all beginner dancers up to age Under 10 or unless deemed otherwise by the teacher.
- Practice ~ Practice ~ Practice....Remember there is no such word as 'I can't do that'
- Dancers - Remember our motto "We're all in this together"
Rules will be updated regularly as required - Please keep checking this page for any updates!

Rules for all parents -
- Parents - All parents should assist in the above rules regarding dancers
- Dancer Information - If any parent has any concern regarding anything within the Academy, can I ask they please make contact with me and only me as a matter of great urgency so it can be dealt with quickly and confidentially
- Dancers Well-being - All parents should appraise Maureen of any medical conditions immediately. These details will be held securely on file and kept strictly 'Private & Confidential'
- Your Child - your child or children will be taught at a pace that is suited to their ability and are comfortable with and they will also be taught steps appropriate to the grades they have achieved.
- Some Classes are 'parent free' e.g (Lithuanian Club & Port Glasgow classes) this is purely down to not having enough room for parent to sit in on class.
Can I ask all parents to comply to this rule. This rule is for all and no one should take it upon themselves to do
as they please. This rule applies to all dancers at the classes mentioned, ie
(beginner & inter/open dancers)
- Assistance - Can I ask all parents to refrain from discussing 'class private business' either within the class during class time or out with class time. It has been proved on many occasions in the past, that any business discussed either within the class or out with the class by parents is never accurate and can be wrongly 'over' exaggerated, and through no fault of their own many are given inaccurate details, which always comes to light in time! Most of the time, in experience, these people are knowingly trying to cause bother by causing unrest within the Academy. Any parent or dancer who is found to be using this method of causing unrest will be ask to leave immediately, as has been done in the past.
Always......If in doubt, please do not hesitate asking Maureen at any time as it's important that correct and accurate information is given to all.
Advice....if in doubt, ask Maureen
- Emphasis should be placed at all times on making sure your child has an enjoyable experience when attending
the Maureen Onesti Academy, any assistance from any parents is always appreciated in this matter.
- Fees - can I ask all parents to assist in timely fee payments for their child as per ' payment to be received no later than date'
instruction on their monthly invoice. Please Note~Unused fees from one month is not transferable to another month.
- Fund Raising - your participation with all fund raising within the academy will be gratefully appreciated. Although, at certain times, your child may not benefit from certain types of fundraising, ie, Fund Raising for World Qualified Dancers, your child will one day be funded for various other ventures within the Academy. Can I please ask all parents to bear this in mind when they do not participate in fundraiser's which do not directly at that time involve their own child. Golden Rule - Fund raising will benefit all dancers within the Academy, if not today, then definitely tomorrow!!! Please Note - No parent shall take it upon themselve to arrange any displays or any other activity which will involve dancers 'in a display of show' capacity, from the Maureen Onesti Academy until approval is sought by Maureen.
- Parents & Friends remember our motto - "We're all in this together"
Rules will be updated regularly as required - Please keep checking this page for any updates!
